Hello all, welcome to my blog. My name is Kylie Voss and here is a little look into my life. I am twenty eight years old, graduated from Florida State University with Bachelors in Biological Sciences, and am currently a high school AP Science teacher. I was born and raised in Pensacola, Fl, with the beach as my backyard. I am most at peace, sitting in my beach chair, sandy toes, watching the waves crash the shore and seagulls fly ahead. I’m not this mellow all the time, however, I seek adventure and can never say no to road-trip. Traveling not only within the country, but abroad, I have acquired an appreciation and fascination of the many cultures around the world, while admiring amazing scenery, and having a heck of a good time doing it. Did I mention food? I’m kinda a foodie, tbh. Not only do I love to eat many types of food (and lots of it), I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and techniques. However, my blog has nothing to do with any of these interests.
I got married three years ago to my wife Laura. Yes, my wife. I am a lesbian. But again, that is not what my blog is about. This blog site is about Laura and I’s journey as we seek to adopt an innocent, yet parentless child, and the many roadblocks, frustrations, and injustices we face throughout the process. I decided that locking in my feelings as I face this difficult road ahead is not healthy, so I have created this to let out some emotions and allow others a look in to what a lesbian couple faces in the adoption process. Additionally, for each agent or agency that has denied me adoption of a child, it has just fueled my desire to speak out against the discrimination and make my word known.
